The Minisink Valley Historical Society maintains surname files for researchers to use at the Society's Archives Room which is located on the second floor of the Port Jervis Free Library. Some files contain Ancestral charts, documented genealogy reports, photocopied pages from family bibles, a letter of inquiry from another researcher, or a single sheet containing an obituary or newspaper clipping.
If you are unable to visit our Archives in person, you may purchase a photocopy of the Surname File. The number of sheets per file determines the cost of each file. (See price chart below) We have to caution you that amateur family genealogists have donated these family files to the Society, therefore, the Society can not guarantee the accuracy of the information in these files. Nor can we give you a refund if the file does not contain the information you seek. Prepayment is required and the fee includes the cost of shipping and handling. For orders by regular mail, we accept payment by check or money order. We need your street or mailing address complete with zip code and a daytime phone number. Click Here to open a surname file order form in a new window for easy printing.
The Society also accepts online orders using PayPal. PayPal enables customers to safely and securely pay for items using all major credit cards, debit cards, echecks or PayPal accounts. Just click the "Add to Cart" button under the file size you wish to purchase and it will be added to your shopping cart. Once you are ready to check out, you will be sent to the PayPal website to securely enter your payment information. Using PayPal is free, fast and easy. During the check out process, please be sure to enter the surname file(s) you wish to purchase in the "Enter the Surnames Here" section. Click Here to visit the PayPal website.
